Staff Hierarchy

The staff of 624 VGS consist of personnel from all walks of life. The team is lead by a Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (Training) Branch. The executive officers of the squadron are again filled by reservists in the RAFVR(T). Civilians may join the squadron and upon appointment hold the title 'Civilian Gliding Instructor' which is equivalent to the rank of Sergeant allowing them to stay in the Senior Ranks Mess.

The squadron also allows RAF Non Commissioned Officers both in the RAF itself and the RAF VR(T) or Cadet Forces. Some cadets will also manage to achieve the dizzy heights of Pilot and Instructor and are known as Flight Staff Cadets. Below is a list of the current staff and their roles on the squadron. The executive officers each oversee a vital aspect of the squadron - Flying, Engineering and Administration.
